Heat advisory issued for Houston area until 7 p.m. Thursday

HOUSTON – A heat advisory has been issued for the Houston area for this afternoon, with temperatures with heat index values of 106 to 110 degrees this afternoon. 

The heat advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. 

We woke up Thursday to temperatures in the 80s that feel more like the 90s.

Rain chances will remain low and the afternoon will be a blazing hot. Mid- to upper 90s will feel like 103 to 108 degrees for several hours.

Extreme heat will last through the weekend.
