Today’s Forecast:

Extreme Cold Warning until Tuesday at noon: Arctic air has settled over Southeast Texas, and we’re tracking a high in the mid 30s today while morning lows will drop into the teens tomorrow as well.

Today we’re still tracking wind gusts of 20 mph which will make it feel even colder today with our feels like temps in the 20s and teens for the rest of the day.

Now that the storms have passed, our focus has shifted to the cold snap from the arctic blast: Morning lows today and tomorrow will dip into the teens and 20s across the region. Raising the risks for hypothermia and carbon monoxide poisoning from generators.

Tuesday’s Forecast:

This deep freeze extends into Tuesday morning as well, with actual air temperatures expected to get even colder in some areas. While wind chills won’t be quite as harsh on Tuesday, the cold itself is likely to be even more intense with some places seeing lows in the teens again. Keep your pipes and plants protected Monday night, we’re expecting our final hard freeze Tuesday morning. After Tuesday afternoon, we’re done with the hard freeze temperatures.

We’ll continue to track a high-pressure system that will usher in much warmer air, pushing our highs into the 50s mid-week ahead of our next cold front which brings us the chance for rain by the end of the work week dropping us back into the 40s by Saturday

Houston has one day in the morning above freezing, and that’s Friday. Saturday goes below freezing again from a cold front Friday. We have to wait an entire week before temperatures head to the 60s.
