Tuesday’s Forecast:

But before we get to our mid-week warmup, we need to be prepared for another chilly morning. Our morning lows will jump up by 14 degrees by Thursday thanks to a high pressure system.

So what should we actually wear when morning lows dip into the upper 30s and low 40s?

For the kids scooting, biking, or waiting at the bus stop, here’s the official NWS guidance for 35–44° mornings (especially when they’re moving and creating their own wind chill):

- Throw on a real jacket that zips up + hoodie underneath — 38–42° on a scooter feels more like 28–33°.

- Grab a beanie or ear-cover headband + light gloves — ears and fingers will thank you (NWS says head + hands are the game-changer).

- Long pants and pull those socks up high — cold air shoots straight up the ankles if the socks are low.

Your Extended Forecast:

The next real cold snap arrives by next weekend with daytime highs only in the 50s and low 60s!
