Houston’s heat wave continues to break records as it stretches this week

No real relief is in sight as we’re seeing highs continue to sit in July-like numbers

Summer keeps sizzling on:

HOUSTON – So far, we’re on a 3-day record-breaking streak. Tuesday’s 2-day record-breaking high temperature was 95; on Wednesday, it was 96 and Thursday Houston hit 95.

High pressure continues to build into the Gulf, which will ensure that we’ll likely see another run at record-setting temperatures through the weekend.

Remember to take breaks to avoid heat exhaustion if you plan to be outside. It usually takes our bodies a few weeks to acclimate to the typical summer Houston heat.

A southerly flow will pull in moisture, increasing dew points and making it feel like 98-102 degrees through the weekend. Remember to take breaks to avoid heat exhaustion if you plan to be outside.
