Round one of heavy rain and stormy weather set to hit Houston Monday afternoon

Some storms could bring a threat for heavy downpours and lightning for the afternoon commute

Watching for strong to severe storms starting Wednesday

After a wonderful, sunny weekend with low humidity, spring time storms are ready to reload more bumpy weather to kick off the work week.

Here’s the timing as we know it:

Storms will likely fire up as early as lunchtime into the early afternoon as the bubble up from south and west of San Antonio.

These storms will have a lot of lightning, heavy downpours and even a chance to see some hail as we get later into the afternoon.

As of now, the timing of some of the heaviest downpours may move across the area as we get into the evening commute.
