Tonight’s Forecast:
HOUSTON – Even with a cold front yesterday, we had plenty of sunshine for Saturday and ended up topping off at a whopping 85° this afternoon, breaking the record set back in 2023 at 84°.
After sunset, we cool off quickly overnight. Cloud cover does slowly build in, with the potential for fog in the early morning hours as our winds shift back to the south. Cool temperatures in the mid 50s are expected Sunday morning as you wake up to run those weekend errands.

Sunday’s Forecast:
Compared to the warm Saturday, daytime highs for Sunday will only reach the lower 70s. It’ll feel much more seasonable for the second day of March.
For those going to Galveston for the last day of the second weekend of Mardi Gras, it’ll still be a beautiful day on the island - just slightly cooler. Temperatures will only reach the lower 70s by the afternoon. Patchy fog is possible in the morning and cloud cover builds in in the afternoon and evening timeframe.

Early Week Cold Front:
A cold front will move through Tuesday, bringing the chance for rain and strong to severe thunderstorms. An early look at the forecast suggests that the strongest storms will likely stay north and east of the Houston metro. However, everyone stays weather alert. We’ll continue to fine-tune the forecast the closer we get.

We’ve officially hit meteorological spring, but we’re still 19 days away from the Spring Equinox. Houston is still experiencing springtime regardless!
