If you are headed to Galveston for the last weekend of Mardi Gras, there is no need to worry about rain, but you will want to keep an eye on morning fog. Visibility may decrease below a quarter of a mile before 8 AM.

This weekend, Mardi Gras and the Rodeo will be held in picture-perfect weather. Houston is warming above average, in the upper 70s to low 80s.

A cold front will move through Tuesday, bringing the chance for rain and strong to severe thunderstorms. An early look at the forecast suggests that the strongest storms will likely stay north and east of the Houston metro. However, everyone stays weather alert. We’ll continue to fine-tune the forecast the closer we get.
