HOUSTON โ€“ The excessive heat warning has been allowed to expire. Thursday a heat advisory goes into effect, lasting through 10pm. The heat index that has been above 113ยฐ the past three days. It will lower slightly ranging from 106ยฐ to a 112ยฐ tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures also lower by a degree or two with an expected high of 100ยฐ. We have been reaching 102ยฐ both Wednesday and Tuesday. There is a 20% chance for showers and storms during the afternoon.

By the time we get to the weekend our high pressure system weakens, temperatures lower some more and we have a small chance of storms. Friday our heat indices lower to 100ยฐ-105ยฐ and out of the heat advisory range.
