Why is it so hazy?

Have you seen the haze outside? It’s coming from fires in Mexico and Central America. This haze is lowering air quality and actually keeping forecasted highs a touch cooler, but still plenty of mid 90s and feels like numbers in the 100+ range. The storms firing up Tuesday should help to move that smoke/haze out by Wednesday.

The heat advisories and warnings are in place through 10pm Monday, although, may not be extended as we’re expected to see a slightly downturn in the both the afternoon temps in the low 90s and humidity levels that may keep feels like numbers closer to 102-105. Tonight we will be humid with temperatures only dropping to the upper-70s. There is a chance for patchy dense fog.

Tuesday’s Forecast:

The good news is after Monday, temperatures lower enough to get us out of the heat danger zone. It’ll still be hot, just more seasonally hot (as opposed to record breaking.) Highs Tuesday will be in the lower-90s.
