Winter isn’t over yet Houston!

Temperatures tumble this weekend.

North winds drop temperatures.

HOUSTON – I hope you enjoyed the near 70-degree temperatures on Friday afternoon because a cold front is ushering in a big change for the weekend. Expect an almost 20-degree temperature difference from Friday’s to Saturday’s high temperatures.

Grab the jackets this weekend. Headed for 50s for high temperatures Saturday.

After sunset Friday, the cold front moves into southeast Texas and clears the coast around midnight.

Limited moisture with the front but plenty of cold air behind it.

Behind the cold front, high pressure will help clear skies but keep winds out of the north on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday morning is likely the coldest period over the weekend despite winds losing strength, but there will be enough wind to make it feel like the low and mid-30s.

It will feel like the 30s Sunday morning across southeast Texas.

Eventually, high-pressure slides east, cutting off the cold air and welcoming a southerly wind that will set the stage for a major warm-up heading into President’s Day and the start of the Houston Rodeo.
