Rain and heat!

If you don’t get showers this weekend, you’ll see highs in the triple digits, but more rain chances are back this coming week

We're still seeing temperatures well above average for most of the month

Monday’s Temperatures:

Monday will be similar to what we’ve seen for most of the weekend. Temperatures will reach the upper 90s to 100s for many that don’t see any showers or thunderstorms, however, the sea breeze will get things kicking off around noon again. We’re not expecting widespread rain chances but we’ll take anything we can get!

Record-setting hot July:

We are on track to set the hottest July on record in Houston, which would extend to records all the way back to 1889!

We're still seeing temperatures well above average for most of the month

Temperatures have been in the upper 90s to 100+ for all but three days this month. We finally broke our stretch of 5 straight 100-degree days on Friday.

The other thing to watch is how many 100-degree days we have this month. 1980 set the record with 18 100-degree days. So far we are at 13 putting us in third place behind 1980 and 1998.

The Galveston story:

The low temperature has not dropped below 84 degrees this month in Galveston! This morning’s unofficial low temperature was 86 degrees which would mean a 17th day of record low minimum temperatures!

10-day Forecast:

If you don’t get showers this weekend, you’ll see highs in the triple digits. However, next week, the pattern starts to become a little more stormy, which should help to keep afternoon highs somewhat in check for most of the week.

Still plenty of heat but we're starting to see some much needed rain chances
