HOUSTON – It's summer no more!
While the past couple days have been on the warm side, don't expect that to last too much longer. A cold front moving through the area Thursday will bring with it a 20-degree temperature drop.

Here's what you should know about the incoming front
- Isolated rounds of showers and even occasional thunderstorms will move across the area starting around lunchtime through the evening. Before the front passes, temperatures will remain warm, in the upper 70s, but will drop quickly into the 50s by your drive home
- Some storms may be on the strong side with heavy rain and gusty winds upward of 20 to 30 mph
- The timing of the heaviest rain is expected to affect the evening commute from 3 p.m. through 8 p.m.
- Friday morning turns chilly, blustery and cloudy for the morning drive with temperatures noticeably colder, in the mid-40s
- Fall crashes back into Texas Friday afternoon. Highs will struggle to get into the mid-50s with a stiff 10 to 15 mph north wind. Add in overcast skies, and it will feel more like the upper 40s. Friday night will feel crisp and chilly for Friday night football games.
