Expect isolated afternoon thunderstorms

Storms once again are firing in isolated areas this afternoon.

While the coverage isn't as widespread as yesterday, areas that get hit will see a quick half to over one inch of rain in less than an hour. Lightning and strong winds are also likely.

For those that don't see any rain, it's all about the heat: Temperatures will sit in the mid-90s, feeling more like 100-105 through dinner time.

We'll cool back only into the low 80s late tonight.

The work week will be dominated by the heat as high pressure starts to take control, turning off rain chances after tomorrow and turning up the heat to potentially the upper 90s by the end of next week.
