Cluster of storms move through Houston area

HOUSTON – A line of thunderstorms is blasting across northern Harris county bringing strong winds, lightning and possible rotating thunderstorms over the next hour.

The cluster is moving south around 20 mph with wind gusts over 60 mph and some potential for hail. Heavy rain may cause some street flooding along the 290 corridor and more heavy rain is likely throughout the next few hours from north Harris through downtown.

Storms should wind down late tonight with lows settlling into the upper to mid-70s by morning. Another round of storms is likely by tomorrow afternoon as more storms will fire up bringing more chances of heavy rain, isolated street flooding and lightning.

Highs will be hot and muggy in the mid-90s all week.
