HOUSTON – Tropical Storm Matthew formed Wednesday morning in the southern Atlantic Ocean.
According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm was just east of the Windward Islands and was moving west at 21 mph. It had winds of 60 mph.

Tropical storm warnings were issued for the northern and central Windward Islands.
Forecasters said Matthew is expected to strengthen into a hurricane by Friday morning. The storm will take a hard turn north by Sunday morning, and is forecast to hit Jamaica as a hurricane sometime Monday.
