Freeze Warning issued for parts of SE Texas through Monday morning
HOUSTON – A Freeze Warning is in effect from midnight through 8 a.m. Monday for Harris County, northern counties and most western counties as well.
Temps will drop on average 4-5 degrees per hour with areas north of I-10 dropping below 32 as early as midnight.
Some northern counties may bottom out in the upper 20s for an hour or two before sunrise.
Make sure to protect sensitive plants and provide shelter for outdoor animals as many areas will spend up to six hours below freezing tonight.
Heading into Thanksgiving, winds from the Gulf of Mexico start a warming trend with highs back into the upper 70s. However, shower chances also crank up as a system moves in bringing a 30 to 50 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms from Thursday through Sunday. The heaviest rain appears to be moving in Friday evening through Saturday.
Temperatures will cool after that back into the 50s for highs as you head back to work and school and overnight lows in the low 40s and upper 30s.
