Severe weather moves through Houston area

HOUSTON – Severe weather moved in from the coast late Tuesday morning and brought up to two inches of rain to some coastal areas.

Some areas in Galveston have received nearly two inches of rain, which led to street flooding.

A Flash Flood Warning for Galveston County expired at 12:45 p.m.

The storms will move north through the area, with a break in the action around 4 p.m.

The greater Houston area can expect two to four inches of rainfall as Tuesday progresses. The high temperature will be around 88 degrees.

The severe weather threat is low, but a handful of storms this week could produce that expected heavy rain, minor street flooding and gusty wind.

Keep an eye to the sky and an umbrella close by!
