Sunny skies to push temperatures back into the upper 50s Saturday

HOUSTON – A chilly start this morning with temperatures in the mid and even low 30s! The good news is there's little cloud cover for the rest of the day so sunny skies should push highs today back into the upper 50s to near 60. Winds also will be light, mainly out of the west around 5 mph.

Tonight, clear and chilly after sunset with another start in the upper 30s for early Sunday morning. Sunday will also see sunny skies and highs bumping even warmer, back into the mid 60s. A dry cold front (meaning no rain is expected) will drift across SE Texas late Sunday but it won't have much, if any effect on our forecast for the end of the weekend.

High pressure slides in across the Central US early next week which will make sure we see a well-deserved warm up with highs back in the upper 60s Monday, pushing to the low 70s midweek! As we head into the end of the week, clouds return late Thursday with the next storm system cranking up from the southwest moving in on Friday. Highs will fall back into the 50s and another Arctic shot of cold air will ensure a cold, rainy weekend is likely for next weekend. Right now, you might want to make sure you have a backup indoor plan for your Super Bowl party!
