Cloudy, cold, damp through Friday, improvement by weekend

Flash Flood Warning for Brazoria, Galveston, and Harris County until 3 p.m. Thursday

HOUSTON – The heavy rain that hit Houston Thursday afternoon has shifted well east of the area, leaving only a few lingering light rain showers with windy, cold and cloudy conditions for Thursday evening.  Temperatures will drift slowly down through the 40s overnight, bottoming out near 42 degrees.  The wind will continue to make the weather feel very raw all night.

Skies will stay cloudy on Friday and temperatures will be in the 40s all day long.  It will be breezy, too, with winds out of the north at 10-15 miles per hour.  Expect a 30 percent chance for rain Friday morning through early afternoon.

The weekend is looking bright and dry -- perfect for outdoor activity!  Look for mostly sunny skies, chilly mornings and seasonably cool afternoons.  Highs on Saturday will be near 60 and highs on Sunday will reach the mid 60s.
