The Weather Museum still has spots available for summer weather camp. "This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about weather from actual meteorologists," camp director Lauren Ruff said. "Our camp is designed to cover weather basics, tornadoes, hurricanes, thunderstorms, climate, forensic meteorology, forecasting and weather safety."
Weather Camp incorporates a variety of weather related topics as well as adult classes. The group sessions range from ages 5 to 7, 8 to 12, and 13 to 17, with each group designed in their own way to focus on educating youth on the science behind weather. Students can create their own personal tornado, learn about flash flooding and safety, get a detailed look into tropical storms, construct cotton ball cloud formations, and more.

Ruff said, "We also have a session for the older generations of 18+ specializing in the basics of weather and how they produce extreme weather events. There is fun for people of all ages when they come learn about these fascinating weather phenomenons. Campers perform hands-on experiments and create meteorological tools to learn about the day to day weather events."
Camp sessions run Monday through Friday now through July 26. Registration has already begun and with the class size limit it encourages you to sign your child up as early as possible. For more information on the different times and group sessions, please visit the weather museum's website at www.weathercamp.org or https://wrcweathercamp.camperoo.com/ For any other inquiries or if you would like to sign your child up please contact Lauren Ruff, Weather Camp Director, at (713) 529-3076.
