WEATHER
đŁHappy Easter: Cloudy but dry until around dinner time â but hold onto your Easter bunnies!
Weâre tracking consistent wind gusts of 18-24 mph throughout the day. Not to mention, temps have already dropped 13 degrees in some spots over the past 24 hours as the cold air from last nightâs front settles in. âď¸And the most important question right now? How should you plan your Easter Sunday? Because last night was all about the thunderstorms. Models arenât as aggressive as yesterday, showing only a chance for light rain in a few select areas. But it will be cloudy. The cooler air is a little deeper than anticipated, which is canceling out some moisture and giving us a drier forecast overall. Huge shoutout to the NWS for chatting with me this morning to confirm the thinking. Easter Sunday is a BIG family day, so weâll keep a close eye on the radar for you all day as we track highs in the 60s. â°TIMELINE: - 3 PM: Lighter showers possible for areas west and south of I-10 - 5â10 PM: A bit more widespread to the west, north, and south of I-10 And speaking of Easter plans â I was curious what most Americans are doing this weekend. According to the National Retail Federation, Americans are expected to spend a record $24.9 billion on Easter this year â an average of $195.59 per person. Hereâs how theyâre planning to celebrate: - 56% are cooking homemade meals - 43% plan to attend church - 36% are planning an Easter egg hunt Whatâs filling those Easter baskets? - 92% of consumers plan to buy candy â think chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, and mini eggs - 64% will include gifts â small toys, plush items, and even bath bombs - 51% will add outfits or spring accessories And hereâs something fun: Easter baskets arenât just for kids anymore. According to a Ferrero Easter Candy Survey, 66% of adults say they deserve an Easter basket too! So whatever youâre doing this weekend â if youâre still here reading this â thank you for your time and your trust. Stay dry, stay safe, and Happy Easter! đ°đ§ď¸ 𫶠Brittany #houston #htown #easter #easteregghunt
