Animals Gone Wild!

From below-freezing lows to the 70s in one week, I spotted an opossum, squirrel, and bunny out enjoying the sunshine yesterday—and according to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, it’s because they hunker down in dens or shelter during cold snaps to conserve energy and avoid frostbite/hypothermia risks, but venture out more actively to forage when warmer spells arrive.
