Keeping safe during pool season

As summer temperatures rise across Houston, many families are heading to pools and splash pads to cool off.  But water safety experts warn that drowning can happen in seconds, often silently and without warning. According to safety experts, drowning remains the leading cause of death for children between 1 and 4 years old. In Texas alone, more than 100 children drowned last year, and many of those deaths could have been prevented with simple precautions.
