After nearly 30 years on death row, Texas executes Harris County man for 1998 double murder

Charles Victor Thompson, 55, was put to death by lethal injection on Wednesday, Texas’ first execution of 2026. Thompson was convicted of murdering his former girlfriend, Dennise Hayslip and her boyfriend, Darren Cain in 1998.
