Suspect arrested in Katy double murder is biological father of couple’s daughter

Norman Lee Johnson, 42, has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the double homicide of Christopher and Trinette Lopez in their Katy-area home on Jan. 12, 2026. Johnson is the biological father of the couple’s adopted daughter. Authorities say the motive stemmed from ongoing custodial disputes.
