Houston Food Bank to help 15,000 families weekly amid SNAP cuts, shutdown

Houston Food Bank is expanding its food distribution efforts as federal SNAP benefits are paused due to the ongoing government shutdown. Starting Nov. 1, the nonprofit will provide weekly assistance — including protein, produce, dairy and more — to 15,000 families in the Houston area.
