Houston Approves $12.5 Million for New Recycling Trucks to End Pickup Delays

After weeks of ongoing recycling pickup delays, Houston City Council has voted to move forward with a $12.5 million proposal to buy new garbage and recycling trucks. The Solid Waste Management Department says nearly half of the city’s fleet is regularly out of service, with many trucks over 7 years old and more than 150,000 miles logged.
