Mother speaks out after her two children were injured after being shot by a man she knew

An investigation is underway after a mother says her daughter and son were shot by a man she was “involved with” on Sunday evening.  Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located at 5730 Timber Creek Place around 8:30 p.m.  Deputies said when they arrived, 12-year-old Katelynn Martin ran up to them, saying she had been shot in the abdomen. Moments later, they learned Katelynn’s brother, 19-year-old Devante Martin, had also been shot.
