Houston Recycling Delays: Solid Waste Director Addresses City Council

As frustrations mount over recycling pickup delays in Houston, the interim director of Solid Waste Management addressed city council to explain the ongoing issues and what’s being done to fix them. Larius Hassen cited aging equipment, rodents damaging trucks, raw sewage backups, and a staff shortage as major reasons for the delays.
