Third Ward Volunteer Arrested for Scamming Seniors Out of $3K

A volunteer from the Third Ward Multi-Service Center, Shawn Shoemaker, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding over 30 senior citizens out of more than $3,000. Shoemaker is accused of promising seniors a field trip to the Martin Luther King Museum in Atlanta, collecting $128 in cash from each victim for a trip that never occurred.
