Suspect arrested in Hillcroft bar shooting identified as Venezuelan national
The man who was arrested for involvement in a shooting at a sports bar over the weekend has been identified as a Venezuelan national, court records show. Jose Miguel Briceno, 25, has been charged with aggravated assault through a mass shooting. He was given a bond of $1,000,000. Briceno appeared in PC court at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and his next court date is scheduled for Friday morning at 9 a.m. Police believe Briceno shot six people when he opened fire into the entryway of the Latina’s Sports Bar at around 3 a.m. Sunday morning. In a press release, officials said four of the victims—three males ages 21, 25, and 43, and a 53-year-old woman—are still in critical condition. The additional victims—a 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman—suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
