America's first Black astronaut Robert H. Lawrence

KPRC 2 honors an American pioneer, Robert H. Lawrence. He was the first African American chosen for a space mission in 1967. He died in a plane crash before he could fly in space. His groundbreaking selection paved the way for future Black astronauts.
