Houston Area Women’s Center expands services, capacity amid demand for domestic violence support

The Houston Area Women’s Center (HAWC) is expanding its services and shelter capacity to meet the rising demand for domestic violence and sexual assault support during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Through its 24/7 crisis hotline, which fields between 100-120 calls per day, HAWC provides critical assistance, including safety assessments, medical referrals, and a discreet chat feature for survivors unable to call.
