Conroe city council members push for charges against animal care company after puppy loses leg

An investigation into Care Corporation, the company that cares for Conroe’s shelter animals, revealed numerous violations that could result in criminal charges. The probe was initiated after a puppy named Casey came in with a mangled leg last month. Care Corp failed to treat the animal, and by the time he was picked up by a private rescue nearly three days later, he had chewed off his injured leg and required multiple blood transfusions before going into emergency surgery.
