First mosquito of 2024 to test positive for West Nile Virus in Harris County

Harris County Public Health’s (HCPH) Mosquito and Vector Control Division (MVCD) confirms that the first mosquito to test positive for West Nile Virus in 2024 has been collected from a trapping site in the City of Houston. This is the first positive sample in Harris County the agency has seen so far in 2024.
