Deputy Shot In Downtown Houston Confrontation With Armed Suspect

We're continuing to follow the latest on the shooting involving a Precinct 1 deputy and a suspect outside the Family Law Center in downtown Houston. Deputy Sheila Jones and the suspect, 34-year-old Parnell Bland, were both shot. Jones is expected to recover and was saved by her bulletproof vest. Authorities say Bland, a convicted felon, had just been released on bond last week. He’ll be charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer.
