Israeli Forces Clear Crowd Sitting and Kneeling in Street as Al-Aqsa Mosque Access Restricted Israeli forces cleared a group of people who were kneeling and sitting in the street in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Wadi Joz on October 13, as reports said access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque had been restricted. Video from the Palestinian outlet Jmedia shows a group of people blocking a road while sitting on prayer mats in front of a line of Israeli forces. Crowd control munitions are then thrown and fired before mounted officers charge at the crowd, who retreat. According to Jmedia, the people were being blocked from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque for Friday prayers. According to Anadolu Agency, the Jerusalem Waqf, which manages Islamic parts of the Temple Mount, said Israeli police were only allowing worshippers over 70 to enter the mosque. The confrontation came as residents in north Gaza were ordered to evacuate south as Israel prepared to continue its response to Hamas’s October 7 attack. Credit: Jmedia via Storyful
