Cyclist hurt in Melbourne hit-and-run caught on dashcam

Police in Melbourne said they were continuing to investigate the circumstances of a hit-and-run on a cyclist that was caught on the dashcam of a following motorist. Robert Clarke, 59, was struck by a car while cycling in Noble Park on the morning of Thursday, April 13, the Victoria Police said. The driver fled the scene after Clarke was knocked off his bicycle. Dashcam footage released by the Victoria Police shows the collision, as the suspect’s car drives directly at Clarke, knocking him to the ground and dragging his bike away. Police said a 40-year-old Dandenong woman was interviewed by Highway Patrol officers and released pending further inquiries. The rider was taken to hospital with grazing and bruising.
