Houston hip-hop legend Willie D is inviting everyone to his big 60th birthday party

Turning 60 is a pretty big deal, and if you’re Houston hip-hop legend Willie D - the best way to celebrate is to invite some of the biggest names in comedy, music and entertainment to get onstage and roast you! The Houston-born, Geto Boys co-founder is celebrating the milestone with “The Roast of Willie D: Cooked by Legends,” a one-night-only event coming to Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land on October 28th. The roast will be hosted by comedy legend D.L. Hughley, with Cedric the Entertainer, Ali Siddiq and more special guests joining the festivities. Additional names are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. For Willie D, this isn’t just another birthday party. It’s a celebration of a career that has helped shape Houston’s place in hip-hop history. As a member of the legendary Geto Boys, alongside Scarface and Bushwick Bill, Willie D helped introduce the world to Houston’s distinctive, unapologetic hip-hop sound. The group became one of the most influential acts in Southern rap, tackling subjects and pushing boundaries in ways that helped pave the way for generations of artists who followed. “The Roast of Willie D: Cooked by Legends” go on sale this Friday, August 21st.
