After legislation in 2019 allowed for oyster aquaculture in the Gulf, the Aparicio family, under the guidance of Texas Sea Grant Aquaculture Specialist, Dr. Mario Marquez, and the Palacios Marine Agricultural Research Organization, began the cultivation of oysters.
