Reviving Houston’s bayous: Inside the restoration project making the city greener
The Galveston Bay Estuary Program is one of 28 estuary programs in the nation, dedicated to protecting and revitalizing Houston’s bayous and estuaries for future generations. In collaboration with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD), the program's first initiative involved gathering volunteers to plant 2,000 native seedlings along the bayou. A few members of Houston Life joined the HPARD team and selected volunteers at Little Thicket Park to film their efforts in preserving the city's natural beauty.
