Emancipation Park hosts 149th Annual Juneteenth Celebration with virtual events | HOUSTON LIFE | KPRC 2

Emancipation Park is the oldest park in Houston, and in the state of Texas. The park is located in Houston’s Third Ward, and serves as a gathering place for community members to celebrate Juneteenth. Jackie Bostic, with the Emancipation Park Conservancy and Connie Griffin from Shell, talk about the park's history, legacy and support from the community. The Conservancy has been hosting weekly virtual events, webinars and panel discussions, presented by Shell, to commemorate Juneteenth. Here’s a look at some of the other events they have coming up, including a meal distribution event and virtual music show.
