Texas Heart Institute highlights health benefits of daily step count

The Texas Heart Institute reports that health benefits begin at 2,500 steps a day, with mortality rates steadily declining until reaching 7,500 steps. Dr. Joseph Rogers from Baylor College of Medicine suggests aiming for 7,000-8,000 steps for the most benefit. While 10,000 steps are often recommended, the benefits flatten past 7,500.
