HOUSTON – Question: I’m always late to work. How do I report a train stuck at a railroad crossing?

Answer: North Houston drivers are asking why trains seem to always block the intersection of Rankin and East Hardy and what should they do? Edna Flores, a KPRC 2 loyal viewer, says she’s often half an hour late to work because she gets stuck at that intersection. What we found, is that usually when a train stops in its tracks it’s because the rail yards they are headed to aren’t ready for them. So, they stop where they are, and a lot of times block intersections and create massive delays.

So what do you do? How do you report this situation? According to City of Houston, last year there were a lot complaints from drivers blocked by trains at intersections on the east side.

And they advised anyone who got stuck at a railroad crossing, should report the blockage at the “Federal Railroad Administration’s blocked crossing” website.
