The city of Houston could soon spend nearly $18 million on new water meters — but some residents say they’re still dealing with the fallout from the last round of meters the city installed.

The Texas Public Utility Commission is fining Texas New Mexico Power $1.7 million dollars for its failure to upgrade its electric meters before the 3G network it relied on was taken down.KPRC 2 Investigates has reported the problems caused by the outdated meters for months.
