CenterPoint Energy executives are being questioned by the state’s Public Utility Commission after widespread criticism of the way they responded to historic power outages after Hurricane Beryl.

Earlier this week, the Governor had a lot of tough talk for CenterPoint Energy.

A $50,000 bond was set during a man’s first court appearance after being accused of threatening CenterPoint Energy employees and assaulting police officers on Tuesday.

While many Houston area residents are at home due to Hurricane Beryl, many are having trouble connecting to internet connection or signal on their cellphones.

Voluntary evacuations have been issued for the coastal areas of Matagorda County ahead of Hurricane Beryl’s landfall in Texas, according to the Matagorda County Emergency Operation Center.

Beryl became a monster category 5 Hurricane on Monday, making it the earliest category 5 that has formed since Hurricane Emily on July 17, 2005.
