Two men who were inside the van when federal immigration agents shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo have been formally certified by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office as victims of alleged violent crimes, according to newly filed federal court documents.

Investigators said they recovered a handgun and dozens of shell casings at the scene.
