Former Trump casino where stars played goes out with a bang
The former Trump Plaza casino was imploded after falling into such disrepair that chunks of the building began peeling off and crashing to the ground. โI got chills,โ Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small said. AdOpened in 1984, when Trump was a real estate developer in his pre-politics days, Trump Plaza was for a time the most successful casino in Atlantic City. AdBut things began to sour for Trump Plaza when Donald Trump opened the nearby Trump Taj Mahal in 1990, with crushing debt loads that led the company to pour most of its resources โ and cash โ into the shiny new hotel and casino. Trump Plaza was the last of four Atlantic City casinos to close in 2014, victims of an oversaturated casino market both in the New Jersey city and in the larger northeast.
A sweep for โSchittโs Creek,โ โSuccessionโ tops Emmy Awards

The awards for Pop TV's โSchitt's Creekโ included best comedy series and trophies for its stars, including Catherine O'Hara and father-son Eugene and Daniel Levy. Moments later, his son won the award for comedy writing for โSchitt's Creekโ episode, then shared a directing award and captured the supporting actor comedy trophy. As โSchittโs Creekโ gobbled up comedy awards, that left acclaimed โInsecureโ and its creator Issa Rae empty-handed. But Black stories, Black performances and Black Lives Matter,โ he said, urging Kimmel to shout with him.
Oops, says Emmy: 'This Is Us' actor gets Emmy after mix-up

In a voice-over announcement, Bateman was declared the winner for his guest appearance on HBO's โThe Outsider,โ while the screen displayed Jones' name. Other winners Saturday included Eddie Murphy, whose return to โSaturday Night Liveโ after more than three decades earned the star his first Emmy Award, for guest comedy series actor. Maya Rudolph claimed the categoryโs guest actress trophy for her portrayal of Sen. Kamala Harris on the same episode. Cherry Jones was honored as guest actor in a drama series for โSuccession."
