A new analysis of Texas Education Agency data shows public school enrollment declined by more than 76,000 students last school year, with Hispanic students accounting for the majority of the statewide drop.

HISD enrollment dropped by more than 8,300 students this year. The district says population shifts and statewide trends are driving the decline and that it’s working to keep families in the district.
