Australia has granted asylum to five members of the Iranian women’s soccer team who were in the country for a tournament when the Iran war began.

Iran’s national soccer team has finished the Women's Asian Cup group stage in Australia and now faces a return home to a country embroiled in war.

Soccer player Sara Didar has expressed the national team's concern for their families and all Iranians amid the war back home while they're in Australia competing in the Women's Asian Cup.
